For security reasons the K-9 dogs are trained with pseudo scent explosives, which substitute the real ones. These explosives were developed for the U.S.A. Marine force in order to reproduce the MNO1 explosive kit in use in the Marines, the Marina, and in all the other American governmental organizations. This makes it possible to work in an environment where real explosives would be inappropriate, thus avoiding any risk during training that may be present if working with real explosives. They can be used in public places and in public and private vehicles. This makes it possible for the dogs to get used to searching for explosive substances in many places.
